Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of PikaTalk (the "Service"), operated by Translife Communication Pte. Ltd. ("we", "us", "our"), a company registered in Singapore. By accessing or using the Service at pikatalk.com, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
1. Description of Service
PikaTalk is an AI-powered real-time speech interpretation service. The Service translates spoken language between two selected languages using artificial intelligence. The Service is provided as a Progressive Web App (PWA) accessible via web browsers.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years of age to use the Service. By using the Service, you represent and warrant that you meet this requirement. If you are under 18, you must have the consent of a parent or legal guardian.
3. Account Registration
- You must create an account to use the Service, either via email/password or Google Sign-In.
- You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.
- You are responsible for all activities that occur under your account.
- You must provide accurate and complete information during registration.
- You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.
4. Credits and Payment
4.1 Credit System
The Service operates on a prepaid credit system. You purchase credits which are consumed during active interpretation sessions at a rate of $0.50 USD per minute (billed in 30-second increments at $0.25 per increment).
4.2 Purchasing Credits
- Credits can be purchased in preset amounts: $10, $25, $50, or $100 USD.
- The minimum purchase is $10 USD (20 minutes of interpretation).
- All payments are processed securely by Stripe, Inc.
- All prices are in US Dollars (USD).
4.3 Credit Expiry
Purchased credits do not expire. Your credit balance remains available for as long as your account is active.
4.4 Refund Policy
Credits are generally non-refundable once purchased. However, we may issue refunds at our discretion in the following circumstances:
- Technical failure on our end that prevented you from using purchased credits.
- Duplicate or erroneous charges.
- Service unavailability for an extended period.
To request a refund, contact us at customerservice@translifegroup.com within 14 days of the purchase. Include your account email and transaction details.
4.5 Session Billing
Credits are deducted during active WebSocket sessions. If your credit balance reaches zero during a session, the session will be automatically terminated. You will not be charged beyond your available balance.
5. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable laws.
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Service.
- Interfere with or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure.
- Use automated tools, bots, or scripts to access the Service.
- Share your account credentials with others or allow unauthorized access.
- Use the Service to transmit harmful, threatening, abusive, or harassing content.
- Attempt to bypass any security measures or access restrictions.
- Resell or redistribute the Service without our written consent.
6. AI Translation Disclaimer
The Service uses artificial intelligence for translation and is not a substitute for professional human interpreters. While we strive for accuracy, AI translations may contain errors, omissions, or inaccuracies.
- Translations are provided "as-is" and should not be relied upon for critical legal, medical, financial, or safety-related decisions without independent verification by a qualified professional.
- Industry context modes (Medical, Legal, Finance, etc.) improve terminology accuracy but do not guarantee error-free translations.
- We are not liable for any damages, losses, or consequences arising from reliance on AI-generated translations.
7. Intellectual Property
The Service, including its design, code, branding, and content, is owned by Translife Communication Pte. Ltd. and is protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works based on the Service without our written permission.
8. Privacy
Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, and protect your personal data.
9. Service Availability
- We aim to provide the Service 24/7 but do not guarantee uninterrupted availability.
- The Service may be temporarily unavailable due to maintenance, updates, or circumstances beyond our control.
- We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service (or any part thereof) at any time, with or without notice.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law:
- The Service is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" without warranties of any kind, express or implied.
- We do not warrant that the Service will be error-free, secure, or uninterrupted.
- We shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service.
- Our total liability to you for any claims arising from the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid to us in the 12 months preceding the claim.
11. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Translife Communication Pte. Ltd., its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from your use of the Service or violation of these Terms.
12. Account Termination
- You may close your account at any time by contacting us.
- We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms.
- Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately.
- Any remaining credits at the time of termination due to your violation of these Terms are forfeited.
13. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Singapore. Any disputes arising from these Terms or the Service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Singapore.
14. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated Terms on this page with a revised effective date. Your continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
15. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
