1. Information We Collect

1.1 Account Information

When you register or sign in, we collect:

• Email address — used for authentication and account communication.
• Display name — if provided via Google Sign-In.
• Authentication provider — whether you signed in via email/password or Google.

1.2 Payment Information

When you purchase credits, payment is processed by Stripe, Inc. We do not store your credit card number, CVV, or full payment details on our servers. Stripe handles all payment data in accordance with PCI-DSS standards. We receive and store:

• Transaction amount and timestamp.
• Stripe payment intent ID (for reconciliation).
• Your credit balance.

1.3 Usage Data

We collect data about how you use the Service:

• Session duration and timestamps.
• Language pairs selected.
• Industry context selected.
• Credit consumption records.

1.4 Audio Data

When you use the interpretation feature, your voice audio is streamed in real-time to our AI processing infrastructure for translation. Audio is processed in real-time and is not stored or recorded. We do not retain any audio recordings after the interpretation session ends.

1.5 Transcripts

Text transcripts of your interpreted conversations are generated in real-time and displayed in your browser. Transcripts are not stored on our servers. They exist only in your browser session and are lost when you close the page or start a new session.

1.6 Technical Data

We may automatically collect:

• IP address.
• Browser type and version.
• Device type and operating system.
• Referring URL.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the collected information to:

• Provide, maintain, and improve the Service.
• Process payments and manage your credit balance.
• Authenticate your identity and secure your account.
• Communicate with you about your account or the Service.
• Monitor usage for billing accuracy and fraud prevention.
• Comply with legal obligations.

3. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We may share data with:

• Stripe, Inc. — for payment processing.
• Google Firebase — for authentication and data storage.
• Google Cloud Platform — for hosting and AI processing infrastructure.

• Account data — retained for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion at any time.
• Transaction records — retained for up to 7 years for accounting and legal compliance.
• Audio data — not retained. Processed in real-time only.
• Transcripts — not retained on our servers.
• Usage logs — retained for up to 12 months for billing and service improvement.

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data:

• All data in transit is encrypted via TLS/SSL (HTTPS and WSS).
• Authentication is managed by Google Firebase Authentication.
• Payment data is handled by Stripe under PCI-DSS compliance.
• Server infrastructure is hosted on Google Cloud Platform with enterprise-grade security.

While we strive to protect your data, no method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:

• Correction — request correction of inaccurate data.
• Deletion — request deletion of your account and associated data.

PikaTalk uses browser local storage and cookies for:

• Authentication session management (Firebase Auth tokens).
• Service Worker caching for offline functionality.

The Service is not intended for use by anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If we become aware that we have collected data from a child under 13, we will take steps to delete it.

9. International Data Transfers

Your data may be processed on servers located outside your country of residence, including in the United States (Google Cloud) and other jurisdictions. By using the Service, you consent to such transfers.
